X-Rite Pantone has unveiled a new Color Assessment Profile program aimed at assisting consumer brands in ensuring consistent color representation across various packaging materials. The collaboration between X-Rite Incorporated and Pantone LLC, renowned entities in color science and technology, aims to address the challenges brands face in maintaining color accuracy amidst diverse packaging types.
“Color consistency is critical in brand recognition because consumers often associate any color discrepancy with product quality,” explained Cindy Cooperman, Vice President of Brand Global Strategic Accounts at X-Rite Pantone. “Our Brand Color Assessment Profile aims to alleviate this by helping brands understand how color will reproduce early in the design process before color samples are even sent.”
The program offers a personalized Color Assessment Profile generated by X-Rite Pantone’s Color Experts, focusing on the brand’s specified color. This profile enables brand managers and designers to visualize how their brand colors will appear on various packaging substrates and assess whether CMYK printing is sufficient for different pack types. Moreover, it facilitates informed color decisions during the design phase, thereby saving time and reducing unexpected color discrepancies.
“By leveraging X-Rite’s color libraries and digital tools, brands can gain peace of mind in their color decisions,” Cooperman emphasized. “Our goal is to empower brands with the necessary color data and insights to make informed color choices and reduce time spent on color adjustments, ultimately enhancing brand visibility and consumer engagement.”
The Brand Color Assessment Profile program is poised to provide practical assistance to brands striving for consistent and accurate color representation across their packaging materials, addressing a significant concern in the competitive consumer goods market.
