Secure printing specialist Workz officially opened in Dubai on 26 October what it describes as the region’s largest telecoms logistics and fulfilment centre.
The 5,600m2 facility has a new expanded fulfilment, card and packaging printing facility plus logistics and warehouse space.
Workz – which specialises in producing and packaging serialised products with variable data – expects the new base to raise its annual production capacity above 60m packs.
Tailored for products that require activation such as scratch cards, SIM cards, and high-value electronics packaging, the facility features advanced IT systems such as OCR, camera verification systems, barcode scanners and in-house serial tracking solutions to track and quality check each product throughout the production process.
Workz had run its previous fulfilment centre for 16 years but has recently invested in card and packaging printing facilities, said director Brad Taylor.
“It is very pleasing to consolidate all activities under one roof in order to optimise our operations and enhance efficiencies for our customers even further,” he said.
“Our expanded operations at this new bespoke packaging and fulfilment facility will enable us to not only pack more (over 5m units per month) but also provide a greater diversity of service from high-volume, low-cost packs to low-volume, high-end business and VIP packs.
“We are optimistic that our clients, of whom many are global telecoms providers and electronic manufacturers across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, will be able to see the benefits from our improved offering too.”
