The global packaging industry came together at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany, from May 4-10, 2023 for Interpack, the largest and most international meeting of the processing and packaging sector. Thousands of key players and newcomers from over 60 countries gathered to celebrate a long-awaited reunion and to focus on the critical issues facing the industry in 2023 and beyond.
From sustainability to digitalisation, Interpack is a global trendsetter for the future themes of the industry. Over 2,700 companies presented innovations along the entire value chain, making it the best place to meet potential partners and customers and to expand international business. No other trade fair can compare when it comes to representing the global market in its entire variety and scope.
With 18 trade fair halls, Interpack created a custom concept based on core target groups to help visitors navigate through the exhibition. Here are some of the highlights of the event:
Confectionery and Baked Goods Processes and machines for packaging confectionery and baked goods were presented in halls 1, 3, and 4. Exhibitors like Sollich, Aasted, Theegarten-Pactec, Chocotech, Bühler, Winkler and Dünnebier showcased their solutions for packaging something sweet. The baking sector met with exhibitors like Hebenstreit, Rheon Automatic Machinery, Colussi Ermes, Tonelli, TT Italy or Reading Bakery System.
Food, Beverages, Non-Food, and Industrial Goods In halls 5 and 6, big names like Multivac Sepp Haggenmüller, Ulma Packaging, Weber Maschinenbau, Fawema, Coesia, Syntegon Technology, Duravant, and Fuji Machinery presented their innovations. Halls 11-14 hosted Omori Machinery, Mettler-Toledo, Extend Great International, Haver & Boecker, KHS, Krones, Aetna Group, Sidel, ProMach, Gerhard Schubert Verpackungsmaschinen, Ishida Europe, LoeschHastamat, and tna solutions.
Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics Pharmaceutical companies found universal solutions in halls 15 to 17, where they met with IMA Industria Macchine, the Marchesini Group, the Optima packaging group, Romaco Holding, Körber Medipak Systems, and companies from Excellence United. Cosmetic products were also a focus of the sustainability movement.
Packaging Materials Halls 7, 7a, 8a, 9, and 10 showcased at least a third of all exhibitors and an especially high number of innovations in the field of sustainability and conservation of resources. Visitors could explore new materials, sustainable raw materials, or increasing recyclates at Sappi Europe, Sonoco, Mayr Melnhof Packaging, Berry Global, Schütz, the SIT Group, or Seda International Packaging.
Labelling, Marking, and Finishing Machines for labelling and marking technology were presented in halls 8a and 8b, from exhibitors like Bluhm Systeme, Langguth, Domino Printing Sciences, Videojet Technologies, Herma, Possehl, and others. Solutions from packaging production and integrated packaging printing companies like Starlinger, Totani, Fujifilm Europe, the Brückner Group, and HP were also showcased.
