UK manufacturing facility to be set up with GBP50m and to act as Europe head office
dubaiHotpack Packaging Industries, a leading producer and wholesaler of quality disposable food packaging materials in the UAE, has announced an investment of GBP50m (USD62m) to develop a facility in Wrexham in Wales in the UK.
Abdul Jebbar P B, group managing director at Hotpack Packaging Industries, said the investment and expansion into the UK was part of the company’s “global expansion plans”.
“We are currently focusing on increasing our global footprint and are looking to establish the region’s head office and manufacturing facility in Wales, UK,” he said. Equipped with the latest packaging and manufacturing technologies, the facility will be established as the UK and European head office and manufacturing facility, potentially creating 250 jobs in the region, according to Hotpack.
The investment was announced during a visit to the UAE by Lesley Griffiths, Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Rural Affairs. She and Philip Parham, UK Ambassador to the UAE, visited the USD27 million Hotpack head office and factory spanning over 360,000 sqft in Dubai Investment Park.

Through our facility, we hope to create 250 job opportunities. Wrexham and the immediate area are rapidly emerging as a ‘centre of excellence’ in advanced food technology and we look forward to bringing our 22 years of experience to enhance and support this sector with investment, job creation, training along with the very latest in production lines.

Hotpack Packaging Industries was established in Dubai, UAE, in 1995 as a company for manufacturing, marketing and distributing food packaging materials and related products made of plastic, aluminium, foam, paper through its own manufacturing facilities functioning in Dubai, Umm Al Quwain, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and India.
The group has over 1,000 employees across the region in six manufacturing facilities and 18 branches. The group has operations across the Gulf Countries including Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar, as well as in India and in African & CIS countries.
