At Gulfood Manufacturing 2024, Tetra Pak unveiled its commitment to sustainability and innovation under the theme “Unlocking Potential.” The company aims to empower its customers to achieve growth, enhance operational efficiency, and diversify product offerings.
Sonya Kayani, Communications Director for Greater Middle East and Central Asia at Tetra Pak, with Ben Daniel, Chief Editor, Packaging MEA, highlighted the company’s focus on helping clients make small, impactful changes. These include improving operational processes, reducing ownership costs, and expanding product ranges. One of the standout innovations on display is a plant-based sour beans soft-serve ice cream, reflecting consumer trends toward plant-based foods. Tetra Pak’s efforts are designed to offer options for every consumer, supporting brands in adapting to shifting market demands.
Sustainability remains central to Tetra Pak’s strategy. The booth itself is constructed from recycled materials, including 3D printed motifs and recycled carton furniture. The company’s commitment extends across its value chain, from responsible sourcing of FSC-certified paperboard to creating a circular economy. Notably, Tetra Pak is collaborating with local partners to implement reverse vending machines for recycling cartons used at the event, ensuring a closed-loop system within the booth.
Tetra Pak’s recycling initiatives are expanding beyond the event. By the end of November, the company has begun operations with Union Paper Mills in Dubai, marking a significant milestone in its regional recycling efforts. This initiative aligns with the company’s vision to establish circularity within the region, further reinforcing its sustainability goals.
Kayani emphasized that Tetra Pak offers solutions for businesses of all sizes, not just large enterprises. The company continues to integrate emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to optimize efficiency and help brands meet consumer preferences.
Marking a decade at Gulfood Manufacturing, Tetra Pak sees the event as a key platform to engage with regional customers, highlighting its commitment to sustainability and innovation in packaging.
