Tadweer Group has deployed 25 Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) across strategic locations in Abu Dhabi, including Umm Al Emarat Park and Zayed International Airport, with plans for further installations. The initiative involves collaboration with various partners, such as the Ministry of Finance, Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), ADNEC Group, and the Department of Municipalities and Transport.
The RVMs, which have also been installed at Bawadi Mall and Khalidiyah Mall, aim to enhance recycling efforts in the region. In conjunction with this rollout, Tadweer Group has launched the Tadweer Rewards application, designed to encourage recycling by allowing users to earn points redeemable for rewards from partner merchants.
Ali Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and CEO of Tadweer Group, emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, “Tadweer RVMs and Tadweer Rewards offer a unique opportunity to revolutionize recycling in Abu Dhabi.” He noted the organization’s commitment to using technology to support sustainability, aiming to divert 80% of waste from landfills by 2030.
Humaid Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, added that the partnership with Tadweer aligns with Abu Dhabi’s sustainability objectives and national strategies for development. “Our collaboration fosters innovative solutions to improve our recycling and reduction efforts,” he remarked.
The deployment of RVMs is part of a broader Memorandum of Understanding signed in April between Tadweer Group and ADNEC Group, which focuses on implementing sustainable practices across various assets, including the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.
The RVMs were first showcased at the 10th EcoWASTE Exhibition and Conference in April, highlighting their capabilities in recycling plastic bottles and aluminum cans. Rasha Kablawi, Director of Corporate Communication for Sinyar Holding, noted that the partnership with Tadweer Group aligns with Abu Dhabi’s vision of becoming a leading global sustainable city.
