Swisslog, a global leader in robotic and automated solutions, showcased its advanced technologies at Gulfood Manufacturing 2024, held from November 5-7 in Dubai. The event, a key platform for exploring food production innovations, allowed attendees to view live demonstrations of Swisslog’s automation solutions, including the AutoStore system. This robotic storage, small parts picking, and order processing solution is designed to streamline the food production and distribution process.
Rami Younes, General Manager of Swisslog Middle East, noted, “Our solutions are reshaping the future of food supply chains by addressing current and future challenges, from production to distribution, while ensuring environmental and sustainability goals are achieved.” He added that Swisslog’s systems help food manufacturers manage the increasing demands of e-grocery and rapid order fulfillment, a sector forecasted to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24.2% in the Middle East until 2032.
With over 300 AutoStore installations globally, including 200 in Europe, Swisslog has been at the forefront of automating food supply chains. Its technologies, which support businesses in adapting to limited space and managing numerous stock-keeping units (SKUs), are designed to meet the demands of a growing global population and changing consumer behaviors.
Swisslog’s automation solutions also align with sustainability goals, particularly in reducing food waste and energy consumption. According to estimates, reversing global food waste could feed an additional 2 billion people and cut emissions by 8-10%. Swisslog’s systems play a crucial role in minimizing waste, aligning with the UAE’s ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
Through data-driven, adaptable automation, Swisslog is helping food producers improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and enhance food safety, offering scalable solutions that integrate into both new and existing operations.
