SÜDPACK, a leading manufacturer of high-performance films and packaging solutions, has unveiled a certified recyclable film solution for stand-up pouches with spouts, suitable for liquid or pasty foods such as fruit purees. This innovative packaging solution, showcased at Anuga FoodTec, offers high material efficiency and recyclability, ensuring maximum product protection and process reliability.
The packaging concept, developed in collaboration with SN Maschinenbau and Menshen, utilizes PP-based high-performance films from the Pure-Line product family. These films, classified as recyclable, provide optimal pouch stability, low packaging weight, and an improved carbon footprint.
The stand-up pouches, made with SÜDPACK’s recyclable PP film and Menshen’s LoTUS spouts, are considered true single-material solutions, making them suitable for introduction into appropriate material loops. The PP spouts, featuring MENSHEN LoTUS™ technology, ensure energy-efficient production and a cost-effective, high-quality process.
The SÜDPACK film offers a wide processing window, allowing for secure spout sealing, while its excellent sealing strength ensures maximum pouch tightness and burst-pressure resistance. Additionally, the film can be equipped with different barriers for optimal product protection against water vapor, oxygen, or UV light.
Efficient processing of the recyclable film and spouts is demonstrated on SN Maschinenbau’s SPM 50 pouch making machine, capable of producing up to 4,200 pouches per hour. The machine’s compact design allows for flexible placement, either next to the filling machine or in a separate room, making it ideal for tight production spaces.
Overall, the innovative packaging concept offers significant cost savings in terms of storage space, logistics costs, and pouch production. The in-house production of spout pouches enables producers to quickly adapt to changes in demand, shorten lead times, and reduce time-to-market.
