
Stora Enso Packaging, a major corrugated packaging supplier in Sweden, has achieved notable improvements in production capacity and efficiency following its collaboration with BOBST. After the implementation of BOBST Connect, the company reported a 4.4% increase in production capacity and a 3.3% boost in production efficiency across its converting plants in Skene and Jönköping.
The Jönköping site, which produces various types of consumer and transport packaging, is equipped with advanced BOBST machinery, including two MASTERCUT 2.1 flatbed die-cutters and two MASTERFLEX flexo post-printers. In addition to the state-of-the-art equipment, the partnership also includes the integration of BOBST Connect, a real-time production data platform, alongside tailored training and machine support through BOBST’s Maintenance Plus service plan.
Fredrik Wiell, Maintenance Manager at Stora Enso Packaging, shared, “After implementing BOBST Connect, we saw a production capacity uplift of 4.4% and a production efficiency increase of 3.3%. We have now reached a machine availability of 98.5%, which is a great outcome for us. Digitalization and connectivity are very important for us, and we’ve invested in several training packages from BOBST, tailored to our needs.”
