On International Women’s Day 2024, petrochemical giant SABIC celebrated with the theme ‘Inspire Inclusion’, reaffirming its commitment to fostering diversity, inclusion, and collaboration within its workforce. The company highlighted the significant contributions of numerous Saudi and global female leaders at various levels, inspired by th
e transformative changes underway in Saudi Arabia as part of Vision 2030.
SABIC’s initiatives, including the SHE: the SABIC Women’s Network, regional awards for women in STEM fields, and the SABIC Scholarship Program, actively promote the advancement of women across the organization. The SHE network focuses on empowering women as leaders, partners, and influencers, providing growth opportunities throughout the company.
Under the umbrella of the SHE network, the initiative Nusaned™ has generated over 10,000 job opportunities for Saudi women, while collaborations with organizations like the eastern region’s Chamber of Commerce further bolster women’s roles in the business sector. SABIC also partners with NGOs and universities, offering the External Learning Program to equip young Saudi women with essential employment skills.
With nearly half of its scholarship recipients being female high school graduates, SABIC encourages women to pursue relevant degrees both locally and internationally. Additionally, the SABIC Young Professionals program offers tailored career development opportunities, guiding employees toward leadership roles.
From supporting female high school graduates to nurturing young leaders through the SABIC Young Leadership Council (SYLC), SABIC demonstrates its commitment to empowering women throughout their careers, setting a benchmark for organizations globally, beyond the chemical industry.
