Reprotronics LLC has marked a significant achievement, becoming the first prepress bureau to receive EcoVadis certification. Founded in 1993, the company has evolved from a traditional prepress bureau to a digital and automated facility, constantly adapting to the evolving demands of the packaging and label printing sectors.
Sebastian Lonth, General Manager of Reprotronics, highlights key milestones in the company’s transformation, including the adoption of early technology such as the Magnascan GISS scanner, Studio 9700, and first-generation Macintosh workstations. More recently, the company has integrated software like Esko and Hybrid, further automating its processes and enhancing efficiency.
On the sustainability front, Reprotronics has made significant strides. The EcoVadis certification aligns with its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and transitioning towards a circular economy. Initiatives include material optimization, digital workflow automation, eco-friendly plate-making, and partnerships with sustainable suppliers. “This certification reinforces our commitment to providing high-quality services while prioritizing sustainability, which is increasingly important to our clients,” Lonth stated.
The EcoVadis audit process was rigorous, requiring extensive documentation across all areas of operation. Reprotronics has earned the “COMMITTED” badge, reflecting its dedication to responsible business practices. Lonth acknowledges that this achievement positions the company as a leader in the market, particularly in the GCC region, where demand for sustainable solutions is rising.
Looking ahead, Reprotronics is preparing for FSC Chain of Custody (COC) certification and exploring new partnerships with environmentally conscious clients. “We are ready to take on challenges and deliver exceptional results,” Lonth added, expressing optimism about the future and the company’s role in promoting sustainability in the packaging industry.
