Ranpak Expands Sustainable Line with PaperWrap Launch

Ranpak announced it will offer PaperWrap, a paper-based alternative to plastic pallet wrapping, across North America as part of its sustainable packaging lineup. The move supports companies looking to reduce plastic use in shipping and logistics.

Ranpak rolls out plastic-free pallet wrap with PaperWrap.

The partnership brings together Ranpak’s distribution network and PaperWrap’s European-developed pallet wrapping machines, designed to work with Mondi Group’s Ad/Vantage StretchWrap—a recyclable kraft paper with stretch and puncture-resistant qualities. Mondi’s data shows the paper wrap generates up to 62% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than virgin plastic alternatives.

Three models of PaperWrap machines are available: semi-automatic, fully automatic, and fully integrated systems, allowing businesses to match their operations with the right level of automation.

“At Ranpak, sustainability is at the core of everything we do,” said Omar Asali, Ranpak Chairman and CEO. “This new partnership with PaperWrap represents a significant milestone.”

PaperWrap, launched in 2024, has already gained traction in Europe with customers such as IKEA. Its wrapping machines can secure up to 750 pallets per reel, offering a high-volume solution with lower carbon impact.

“To successfully introduce PaperWrap machines to the market, it is essential to involve the right partners,” said Jurre Hesseling of PaperWrap. “We have found this partner in Ranpak.”

Ranpak will debut PaperWrap at ProMAT 2025, alongside other technologies supporting eco-conscious logistics.
