ProAmpac launches RotiBag for sustainable food-to-go packaging

RotiBag by ProAmpac: A sustainable, leak-resistant solution for hot grab-and-go foods.

 

ProAmpac has introduced the RotiBag, a flexible packaging solution designed as an alternative to traditional clamshell containers. The RotiBag, available in conventional, recycle-ready, and post-consumer recycled (PCR) structures, aims to reduce material use and enhance sustainability for grab-and-go food items like rotisserie chicken.

 

“The RotiBag addresses a need in the food retail market for a more sustainable and leak-resistant packaging solution for ready-to-eat products,” said Amir Saffar, Director of Global Sustainability Innovation at ProAmpac. He noted the bag’s durability for greasy foods and highlighted its suitability for hot fill and microwave use.

 

The RotiBag offers several sustainable options. The recycle-ready version uses mono-material structures that mimic the performance of multi-material alternatives, while the inclusion of PCR content reduces reliance on virgin resin. These features provide food retailers with packaging solutions that align with their environmental goals.

 

Key design elements include an integrated handle, eliminating the need for additional bags, and a fog-resistant window to improve product visibility. Its slim profile helps maximize shelf space, and custom branding options are available through HD flexo printing.
