ProAmpac has introduced its latest innovation with the launch of the ProActive Recyclable Fresh Tray FT-1000, a polypropylene-based tray designed for sustainability and operational efficiency. Classified as plastic #5 and approved for curbside recycling, this tray targets the food service and grocery sectors with its lightweight and recyclable properties.
Pascal Labrie, vice president general manager of ProAmpac’s tray business, emphasizes the tray’s alignment with industry needs: “ProActive Recyclable Fresh Tray FT-1000 offers grocery and food retail markets a robust, sustainable packaging solution.”
The FT-1000 is noted for its durability, boasting robust impact resistance and stiffness suitable for various applications including meat, seafood, dairy, and produce. It also features excellent water and grease resistance, maintaining product freshness and shelf appearance.
Maryam Dini, technical specialist at ProAmpac, highlights the tray’s operational benefits: “Without compromising performance, FT-1000 maintains line speed on wrapping equipment, matching the efficiency of traditional rigid trays.”
The technology behind FT-1000 incorporates up to 90% air, significantly reducing its material footprint compared to conventional trays, thus offering a more sustainable packaging option for the industry.
ProAmpac’s launch of the ProActive Recyclable Fresh Tray FT-1000 reflects its commitment to advancing recyclable packaging choices and supporting environmental initiatives within the food industry.
