Printcare, a global leader in premium packaging solutions, has inaugurated a cutting-edge manufacturing plant in Nairobi, a move that marks a significant development in Kenya’s packaging industry and the wider East African region.
The new facility, which offers a range of products including mono cartons, corrugated boxes, and premium paper bags, aims to serve businesses in key sectors such as tea, pharmaceuticals, beverages, and apparel. Equipped with advanced machinery and robust quality control systems, it promises faster production times, precision in packaging, and sustainable solutions.
Since its inception in 1979 and its listing on the Colombo Stock Exchange in 1994, Printcare has grown from a local Sri Lankan company to a global packaging powerhouse, with a presence in over 40 countries.
K.R. Ravindran, CEO and Founder of Printcare, spoke at the facility’s launch, stating, “This plant is not just a factory. It’s a gateway to new markets and a chance to enhance packaging standards, driving economic growth in East Africa and connecting local industries with global opportunities.”
Printcare’s expansion is further bolstered by a partnership with Karimjee Group, a family-owned firm with a strong presence in East Africa for over two centuries. Kumayl Karimjee, Head of Strategy at Karimjee, added, “Printcare is reshaping how businesses approach packaging to drive growth and differentiate their brands.”
