In a significant move aimed at meeting the growing local and export demand, PepsiCo has revealed plans to invest over SAR 200 million in the expansion of its Dammam plant. The substantial investment is anticipated to enhance the overall capacity of the state-of-the-art facility. This development aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives, reflecting PepsiCo’s commitment to bolstering the Saudi agricultural sector and promoting sustainable food production in the Kingdom.
The announcement of the investment, exceeding SAR 200 million, was made during the 7th edition of the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh at the end of October. The details were shared with His Excellency Mr. Bandar Ibrahim AlKhorayef, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources. The expansion project is slated to be completed by 2024.
This strategic move is in line with PepsiCo’s broader mission and not exclusive to any particular initiative. The company emphasizes its commitment to transforming the Saudi industrial sector and fostering sustainable agricultural practices across the Kingdom.
PepsiCo, a global Food and Beverage (F&B) leader, seeks to contribute to the objectives of Vision 2030 by making substantial investments in the local market. The company’s dedication to sustainability is evident in this expansion project, which focuses on meeting the increasing demand for its products while adhering to environmentally conscious practices.
While PepsiCo products are widely enjoyed globally, with over one billion daily consumer interactions in more than 200 countries and territories, the company’s financial success was highlighted with a net revenue exceeding $86 billion in 2022. This impressive figure is attributed to PepsiCo’s diverse portfolio, encompassing popular brands such as Lay’s, Doritos, Cheetos, Gatorade, Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, Quaker, and SodaStream.
