Omet’s digital inkjet JetPlus unit – which debuted at Drupa 2012 – has cleared pre-market tests and is available for sale, the Italian manufacturer announced on 7 August.
JetPlus features technology from the Swiss company Domino and enables printing and die-cutting at an average speed of 60m/min through Omet’s Monotwin Cut system, said the company.
Marco Calcagni, Omet‘s sales and marketing director, described JetPlus as “capable of delivering in one stop the upmost quality, the highest productivity and increased savings of time and waste”.
“Such a technology was still missing in the market and we are confident that converters will take the challenge of all-in-one pass production to improve their efficiency on small to long runs,” he said.
Omet can now combine on a single press line flexo and offset groups for the printing of pantones and solids, digital for cmyk or pantone printing, cold and hot foil, screen printing for special effects, UV lamination when needed and, finally, die-cutting and embossing.
Through integrating these technologies, all processes can be performed in-line with no need of extra converting work offline, added the manufacturer.
