Omar Farid, previously SVP and business unit GM for GCC Beverages at PepsiCo, has moved from Saudi Arabia to PepsiCo’s Dubai headquarters to take on the role of president for the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
Sanjeev Chadha, CEO for PepsiCo Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA), described Farid as “one of PepsiCo’s strongest franchise experts across the globe”.
“In addition, Omar is a strong champion of building diversity and an inclusive work environment, driving programmes across the Gulf in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia to develop local talent.”
Farid began his PepsiCo career in 1983 as a senior field representative in Egypt before holding leadership positions at SIPCO (Pepsi’s bottling company for the western region in Saudi Arabia), SSFL (Saudi Snacks Foods Limited), and PepsiCo East Mediterranean and North Africa.
Farid said he looks forward to building on Pepsi’s longtime success in the Middle East, which he describes as “one of the strongest performing regions globally for PepsiCo”.
In his previous role he helped SIPCO and Al Jomaih be crowned AMEA’s Bottler of the Year.
