National Printing & Packaging Co (NPPC) is upgrading its Koenig & Bauer Compacta C408 presses as part of a dedicated investment program aimed at boosting productivity and reliability. The Saudi Arabian textbook printing specialist, which operates two Compacta C408s installed in 2002 and 2013, is investing in a series of retrofits to future-proof its production capabilities.
The first phase of the project included a reel stand retrofit for the 2002 press. The next step involves retrofitting the programmable logic controller (PLC) and control technology, which is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency and reliability of NPPC’s printing operations.
Mansour Al-Sanie, CEO of NPPC, highlighted the importance of their ongoing collaboration with Koenig & Bauer. “Thanks to our long-standing partnership with Koenig & Bauer, we expect these operational enhancements to optimize our performance and further increase market competitiveness,” Al-Sanie said.
Michael Holzapfel, Digital & Webfed Service Manager at Koenig & Bauer, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting NPPC’s long-term growth. “We are very pleased to support NPPC with modernized printing technology that enables it to innovate its production to better meet client demands. This partnership demonstrates Koenig & Bauer’s dedication to the long-term success of its clients and highlights our focus on research and development to address operational needs in cost-efficient ways.”
NPPC’s investment in these upgrades is part of a broader strategy to maintain its competitive edge in the market and ensure the longevity and efficiency of its production capabilities.
