MPS has introduced its latest innovation, the EF Packaging press, designed to expand the company’s existing EF narrow web press series. Targeting flexible packaging and shrink sleeve markets, this press operates at an extended web width of 26 inches, offering new opportunities for label converters looking to diversify into flexible packaging or short-run applications.
The EF Packaging press is engineered to handle a range of printing tasks, including wrap-around labels, shrink sleeves, flexible packaging, laminated products, and filmic labels. “With the EF Packaging press, we aim to meet the growing demand for versatile and high-performance printing solutions,” said an MPS representative.
Among its standout features, the EF Packaging press offers MPS’s patented Crisp.Dot and E-Sleeve technologies. These features ensure high-quality print consistency across different substrates and enable fast, efficient changeovers, minimizing downtime. The lightweight E-Sleeves evenly distribute print pressure, enhancing durability.
Additionally, the press features a fast-change ink chamber doctor blade system, designed to reduce ink waste and optimize flexibility. Operators can benefit from MPS’s fully automatic mark-to-mark register setting, which ensures perfect alignment and minimizes material waste, as well as pre-settable impression settings for consistent print quality.
The EF Packaging press also integrates the MPS Virtual Coach and MPSConnect service platform, which provides real-time data to guide operators, improve productivity, and maintain operational efficiency.
MPS offers further customization with modules like the rotogravure printing unit for metallic inks and varnishes, solvent-based printing units, and lamination modules. These options allow businesses to tailor the press to their specific needs.
This new press underscores MPS’s commitment to innovation and offers businesses a chance to increase efficiency and production capacity in a competitive market.
