Michelman will showcase its water-based primer and OPV solutions tailored for the HP Industrial Print ecosystem at drupa 2024. The company’s commitment to advancing digital printing and its strategic partnership with HP will be highlighted. Michelman will also feature its barrier and functional coatings for packaging, emphasizing performance attributes and sustainability benefits.
With a collaboration spanning two decades, Michelman and HP have developed specialized solutions for the digital printing process. The portfolio covers various applications such as labels, shrink sleeves, flexible packaging, commercial printing, folding carton, and corrugated applications, ensuring support for every application and substrate within the HP Industrial Print ecosystem.
A key highlight is DigiPrime® Vision 9000, a primer designed for superior performance and compatibility. Approved by HP for use with the HP Indigo 6K and 8K Digital Presses, DigiPrime® Vision 9000 enhances press room operations, offering excellent runnability and consistent performance. Its compatibility with a wide range of substrates ensures exceptional print quality on various materials.
Lisa DiGate, Vice President of Global Digital Printing at Michelman, emphasized the significance of this innovation: “DigiPrime® Vision 9000 exemplifies our commitment to providing solutions that empower press owners to explore new possibilities in digital printing.”
Michelman’s innovation extends beyond primers to a broader range of coatings, all water-based, repulpable, and PFAS-free. These coatings include barrier coatings for oxygen, mineral oil, and moisture vapor transmission control; water, oil, and grease-resistant coatings; adhesion promoters for extrusion and metallization; overprint coatings for protection against marring, scratches, and UV light; and heat seal coatings with various initiation temperatures.
DiGate added, “Our innovative solutions support the transition from plastic to paper packaging, the adoption of recyclable mono-material structures, and the reduction of packaging weight, promoting a more circular economy.”
drupa 2024 will be held from May 28 to June 7 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Michelman will exhibit in hall 5, stand D21.
