KAMA GmbH in Dresden and TRESU A/S, a provider of flexible solutions for flexographic printing machines and coating technology from Denmark, have revealed their partnership at Drupa 2024. The collaboration aims to elevate digital finishing to a new level of efficiency.

KAMA will integrate a TRESU coating unit into the newly developed Hammerhead 76/106 for digital finishing, expanding the application spectrum of the solution. The addition of the TRESU iCoat II will enable conventional coating options alongside ‘digital UV spot varnish’ and ‘digital foil finishing’ applications. This joint effort sets new standards for digital finishing by significantly expanding the range of materials and substrates that can be finished, while enhancing efficiency.

The partnership also includes plans for further development of options for the Hammerhead 76/106, laying the groundwork for future collaborations in additional areas by combining their expertise.

Jordi Giralt, Chief Business Officer at Kama, expressed, “TRESU is the right partner to achieve the level of excellence we are aiming for. The collaboration will help us position digital finishing on par with offset or flexo printing in terms of efficiency, utilization, and production cost rationalization.”

Stephan Plenz, Chief Executive Officer at TRESU, stated, “KAMA is on the right track to bring a groundbreaking solution to the market for the growing field of digital finishing that can benefit from our know-how. We look forward to this productive collaboration.”

Jordi Giralt also noted, “drupa 2024 is the right time to present the new partnership and concept of the KAMA Hammerhead with TRESU Coater to the industry.”
