Hybrid Software unveils iC3D Version 10, enhancing metal can packaging design

iC3D 10 users can now precisely adjust the size of bottle models by inputting the desired volumetric measurement.

Hybrid Software has released iC3D Version 10, the latest iteration of its 3D packaging design software. This update brings significant enhancements and critical fixes, demonstrating Hybrid’s commitment to providing advanced 3D solutions for packaging designers and manufacturers.

“Our tenth release of iC3D is a testament to our continued innovation on behalf of packaging professionals,” said Heath Luetkens, Hybrid Software Business Manager – 3D Graphics. “The integration with our recently acquired Capture 3D technology for accurate metal can printing strengthens our comprehensive solution suite for both brands and packaging converters.”

Key Enhancements in iC3D Version 10

Advanced Warping Template: The new advanced warping template, integrated with Capture 3D distortion software, allows users to select scanned model data, set parameters for the distortion grid, and generate designs for use in PACKZ. This feature streamlines the design process for metal can packaging, ensuring high-quality and accurate printing. Additionally, iC3D’s photorealistic live 3D viewing provides new opportunities for branding and innovation in metal can packaging.

Improved OpenGL Viewer: The updated OpenGL viewer now includes enhancements to material rendering, offering more realistic visuals. This viewer features tools for soft proofing and facilitates customer feedback through a secure web browser. It also integrates seamlessly with Hybrid Software’s workflow production suite, CLOUDFLOW, ensuring a smooth and efficient production process.

Volumetric Transform: A new option within Transforms allows users to adjust a model’s size using volumetric information. This feature is particularly beneficial for creating accurate bottle models, as it enables scaling based on volumetric calculations.

These new enhancements, along with various other improvements, aim to significantly boost design efficiency and overall user experience in 3D packaging design.
