Hybrid Software partners with Diageo for AI-driven personalized bottle experience

Custom-designed Johnnie Walker Blue Label bottle featuring AI-generated artwork, debuting at Johnnie Walker Princes Street, Edinburgh.

Hybrid Software, a global provider of prepress, workflow, and 3D solutions for label and packaging printing, has announced its participation in ‘Project Halo,’ an initiative led by Diageo, a major player in the beverage alcohol industry.

The project, set to debut in August at Johnnie Walker Princes Street in Edinburgh, Scotland, offers visitors a unique opportunity to co-create their own bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label. The experience involves a collaboration with Scottish artist Scott Naismith, where attendees use a series of prompts to generate AI-driven artwork. This artwork, featuring various colors, styles, and themes, is then printed directly onto the bottle within minutes. This initiative is touted as a pioneering blend of Scotch whisky, art, and artificial intelligence.

‘Project Halo’ is a collaborative effort involving several industry experts, including Phantom, Amazon AWS, GMG, Roland DG, and Hybrid Software. The project aims to enhance consumer engagement through advanced technology and personalized experiences.

At the Johnnie Walker Princes Street location, guests will experience direct and variable bottle printing, integrating AI technology to foster a deeper connection between the brand and its customers. This approach is intended to boost brand recognition and customer loyalty.

Igor Vandromme, Brand Manager at Hybrid Software, stated, “Our CLOUDFLOW enterprise software is integral to the automation workflow involved, supporting spontaneous consumer choices and facilitating AI-driven artwork printing. This represents a significant advancement in personalized brand experiences, and we are thrilled to contribute to this groundbreaking project.”
