Huhtamaki Oyj has announced the appointment of Ralf K. Wunderlich as its new President and CEO, effective January 15, 2025. Wunderlich, a seasoned executive in the packaging industry, will succeed Charles Héaulmé, who has held the position since 2019. Héaulmé will remain available until July 2025 to ensure a smooth transition.

Pekka Vauramo, Chair of Huhtamaki’s Board of Directors, praised Héaulmé’s tenure, stating, “Under Charles’s leadership, the company has made significant strides toward becoming a leader in sustainable packaging and advancing its 2030 growth strategy. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Wunderlich brings over three decades of experience in the global packaging sector. His previous roles include senior positions at Amcor, LINPAC Group, and Rio Tinto Alcan. “Ralf has extensive experience in leading international packaging businesses and driving growth through both organic development and M&A activities,” said Vauramo. “The Board is confident he will guide Huhtamaki to the next phase of its strategic journey.”

Expressing enthusiasm for his new role, Wunderlich stated, “I know Huhtamaki well and have always admired its innovative capabilities. I look forward to collaborating with the team to deliver value for our customers and shareholders.”

Following his appointment, Wunderlich will step down from Huhtamaki’s Board of Directors. The company also announced updates to its Global Executive Team, which will reflect the leadership changes.

This transition marks a pivotal moment for Huhtamaki as it continues to focus on sustainable packaging solutions and global competitiveness.
