HP Indigo advances digital printing leadership

HP Indigo presses driving digital transformation across industries.

HP Indigo continues to be a leader in digital printing, advancing the industry’s digital transformation with its innovative solutions and technology. Since its early push for digital transformation at drupa 2008, HP Indigo has maintained its pioneering role through its Liquid ElectroPhotographic (LEP) printing technology, versatile solutions, and a diverse partner ecosystem. These elements drive quality, versatility, productivity, cost-efficiency, and sustainability in digital printing.

The impact of this transformation is evident in the installation of nearly 8,000 HP Indigo presses across commercial printing and labels and packaging sectors. These presses enable printers and converters to achieve results previously unattainable.

In the commercial space, HP Indigo remains the industry standard, particularly with its B2 format presses, which are the best-selling digital machines globally, with over 1,000 units installed. In the labels segment, HP Indigo holds a 54% market share, with nearly 2,400 presses installed, making it the standard for digital label production. The HP Indigo 6K Digital Press and the new HP Indigo V12 Digital Press are notable contributors to this success.

HP Indigo also dominates the flexible packaging market with over 90% market share and nearly 400 presses installed. This technology allows for the production of short runs in flexible packaging, significantly reducing delivery times and benefiting small and medium brands. Additionally, the HP Indigo 35K has the largest installed base in digital folding cartons, with more than 80 presses helping converters maximize production and accommodate the growing demand for short runs.

Looking ahead, HP Indigo’s continuous innovation drives the digital transformation forward. The company’s R&D efforts and strong partnerships are evident in the LEPx technology used in the HP Indigo V12 Digital Press, which is transforming the label market. HP’s commitment to intelligent factories is supported by evolving LEP and LEPx technologies and the PrintOS Suite of data-driven software solutions. These advancements provide new business opportunities and pathways for profitable growth.

“Our dedication to innovation toward intelligent factories is fortified by our continually evolving technologies,” HP Indigo’s spokesperson remarked, highlighting the company’s focus on future growth and development.
