GulfPack Expands BOPP Film Production with New Facility

GulfPack’s expansion will add two advanced BOPP production lines, increasing capacity to meet growing global demand.

Gulf Packaging Industries Co. (GulfPack), a manufacturer of BOPP, CPP, and metallized films, has signed contracts for a major expansion to increase its production capacity. The company will add two new 10.4-meter-wide BOPP production lines at a new facility, boosting its BOPP film output from 183,000 tons per annum (TPA) to approximately 318,000 TPA. The new lines are expected to begin operations in 2026 and 2027.

“This expansion is a testament to GulfPack’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer service,” said Naif Al Ansari, CEO of GulfPack. “We have received an overwhelming response to our recent expansions in 2023-24, and with our customer base growing rapidly, demand for our high-performance films continues to surge across the globe. Today, we export to over 75 countries, and these new investments will allow us to enhance our supply capabilities, strengthen partnerships, and support our customers in achieving their growth ambitions.”

The expansion comes amid increasing global demand for BOPP films, which are widely used in packaging applications. GulfPack’s investment aims to support the industry’s transition towards recyclable mono-material structures, aligning with sustainability goals.

“As a forward-thinking manufacturer, GulfPack is committed to developing solutions that support recyclable mono-material structures while reducing the environmental footprint of flexible packaging,” Al Ansari added.

The company has been expanding its operations in recent years, with previous capacity increases in 2023 and 2024. With this latest investment, GulfPack seeks to strengthen its position in the global packaging market and meet the evolving needs of its customers.
