Ferrarini & Benelli unveils new Corona & Plasma Systems for optimized surface treatment at drupa 2024

Ferrarini & Benelli’s Polimetal universal corona treatment system

Ferrarini & Benelli, based in Romanengo, CR, Italy, will unveil their latest innovations in Corona and Plasma treatment systems at drupa 2024, held from May 28th to June 7th (Hall 10/Booth C20).

For Corona treatment, the company will showcase the Polimetal and Format surface treatment systems. Polimetal, a universal corona treatment system, is designed for various converting applications such as coating, laminating, flexo and gravure printing, and extrusion coating. It is suitable for both conductive and non-conductive substrates like plastic and metallised films, paper, aluminium foil, and laminates. The system features special ceramic-coated electrodes and rollers, facilitating film threading and routine maintenance. The Polimetal line includes four models, available in one and double-sided versions.

The Format treatment system is another highlight, tailored for treating individual sheets of different formats in laboratory applications or for optimizing treatment on small batches of previously manufactured substrates. This system is crucial for ensuring treatment reinstatement for subsequent printing.

In the Plasma treatment category, Ferrarini & Benelli will present the In Air Plasma system, specifically designed for folder-gluer lines applications. The system consists of a generator with an integrated transformer and a plasma discharge nozzle. During the exhibition, the nozzle will be mounted on a laboratory robot to replicate the power and speed features of customers’ lines, determining treatment parameters.

The In Air Plasma system enhances glue adhesion, enabling the production of high-quality boxes for various packaging needs. Additionally, an option with two nozzles is available for applications requiring multiple gluing points. Visitors are invited to bring their substrate samples for live treatment tests at the Ferrarini & Benelli booth.
