Esko has confirmed the planned sale of its Advanced Vision Technology (AVT) print inspection business to Porat Itay Holdings, Ltd., with the transaction expected to close in the first quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory conditions. The sale includes assets, employees, contracts, and intellectual property related to AVT. Under the new ownership, AVT will retain its brand, identity, and product portfolio.
Porat Itay is an Israeli private company founded by Roy Porat and Yaron Itay. Roy Porat previously served as President of AVT from 2020 to 2022, while Yaron Itay has led several successful industrial technology companies in Israel.
Joel Depernet, President of Esko, commented, “Selling the print inspection business enables AVT to operate with the strategic focus necessary to drive its growth and innovation. With Esko’s focus on packaging management, prepress workflow, and flexo platemaking solutions, we recognized that these goals were not aligned with the AVT business.” He added, “Under new leadership, I am sure AVT has exciting times ahead and we wish the team the very best for the future.”
Roy Porat expressed enthusiasm about the sale, saying, “We are very excited about this opportunity, as it marks the beginning of a new era for AVT. With my familiarity with the business, I am confident that with the right focus and investment, we will grow the company and better serve our customers.”
