EFI has acquired Lector Computersysteme, a print management information system (MIS) developer based in Germany.
Lector is seen as a leading provider of German-language MIS software.
Marc Olin, EFI‘s interim CFO and SVP and general manager of the company’s Productivity Software business, said Germany is among the world’s largest printing markets.
Frank Mertzbach, founder and former owner of Lector, said EFI continues to prove itself as “a world-class provider when it comes to helping print companies improve their management operations and grow profitably”.
Earlier this month, EFI set a revenue target of $1bn for 2016 as well as a $200m share repurchase programme, expected to complete in three years.
EFI CEO Guy Gecht said the company can capture more of an expanding market as digital starts to replace analogue technology.
“Industrial imaging is at an inflection point as digital printing technology is disrupting the way manufacturing has been done for decades,” he said.
“Our deep commitment to continue developing innovative products that make our customers more competitive only furthers our confidence in the financial targets we have provided today,” he said.
