Ball Corporation, a global supplier of sustainable aluminum packaging, has partnered with Dabur India Limited to introduce Réal Bites juice in recyclable aluminum cans. This marks an expansion of Dabur’s Réal juice portfolio and aligns with growing consumer demand for eco-friendly packaging.
The new 185ml cans, available in Peach, Pineapple, and Green Apple flavors, feature a shelf life of up to one year, compared to the four to nine months typical of other packaging formats. Designed for on-the-go consumption, the cans offer a combination of convenience and sustainability.
“The introduction of Réal Bites in aluminum cans not only broadens our product portfolio but also meets the demand for longer shelf life and sustainable packaging,” said Mayank Kumar, Vice President of Marketing at Dabur India. “We are excited to offer the same great taste in a fully recyclable format.”
India’s juice category recorded double-digit growth in 2023, driven by rising health-consciousness and its role as a preferred refreshment for social occasions. This segment is projected to grow by over 35 million liters by 2028, bolstered by innovative products and flavors.
Aluminum, a material known for its recyclability and energy efficiency, plays a key role in sustainability efforts. Recycled aluminum requires 95% less energy than virgin aluminum, contributing to reduced environmental impact.
“Ball’s aluminum cans, fully recyclable and available in various sizes, help customers meet sustainability goals while providing effective branding and innovative design opportunities,” said Manish Joshi, Commercial Director Asia at Ball Corporation. “For Dabur’s Réal Bites, the wide opening of our cans complements the inclusion of fruit chunks, enhancing the consumer experience.”
The collaboration highlights the growing importance of sustainable packaging solutions as consumers increasingly prioritize eco-conscious choices. It aligns with India’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2070, emphasizing the role of aluminum in circular economy initiatives.
