Domino Printing Sciences has introduced new enhancements to its K600G high-resolution advanced variable data printing solution, aimed at facilitating individual dose serialisation for pharmaceutical manufacturers. These updates focus on improving integration, usability, and maintenance.
Ian Chapman, Strategic Manager for Digital Coding at Domino, stated, “We want to make it as seamless as possible for manufacturers to explore more advanced serialisation. As the first major global coding and marking supplier to offer solutions for individual dose serialisation, we are committed to working with our customers to develop and adapt solutions to suit their needs.”
A South African pharmaceutical manufacturer and long-time customer of Domino was among the first to trial the K600G. The manufacturer noted Domino’s commitment to meeting specific needs within tight timelines, emphasizing the company’s flexibility in providing tailored solutions.
Chapman added, “During our customer trials, operator ergonomics, usability, and physical machine size were all highlighted as key importance when selecting a solution, and we were able to re-engineer the full range of solutions based on this feedback.”
The upgraded K600G features a 35% reduction in overall footprint, allowing for easier integration into existing pharmaceutical packaging lines. The new system incorporates a single touchscreen interface that consolidates all previous control panels, streamlining production management for operators. Additionally, clear maintenance instructions on the machine frame facilitate quick consumable changes. The K600G also includes automated cleaning and maintenance features from Domino’s K600i model, further minimizing potential downtime for manufacturers.
