The Noodle House soul food takeaway will be delivered in “green” package

Noodle House to introduce sustainable packaging across its 12-strong portfolio

Dubai: JRG Dubai operated, The Noodle House, is all set to home deliver its ‘soulful’ takeaways in ‘99% plastic-free packaging’.

The Noodle House is UAE’s home-grown Asian soul food concept, which will partner with Vegware – an international compostable packaging brand – to roll-out green packaging solutions across The Noodle House’s home delivery operations.

The restaurant chain has implemented a “no plastic straw and cutlery” use across its physical restaurants, and home delivery operations since February 2019 and this transition to green Vegware packaging is yet another attempt at providing takeaways with minimal environmental impact.

Further, the brand will also offer diners who return unwanted plastic cutlery a 50% discount on their bill as part of its ‘plastic amnesty’ initiative from March.

JRG Dubai has plans to take the move a step further, which will see the company introduce sustainable packaging and product solutions across its 12-strong portfolio of the restaurant, bars and cafés, including Pai Thai, Trattoria Toscana and Flow, the brand confirmed. The Plastic Oceans Foundation estimates that around 50% of the 300-million tons of plastic produced worldwide each year is used only once before being thrown away. The Noodle House only offers paper or bamboo straws on request. Conventional plastic is no longer an option for customers ordering food as home deliveries.
