Bobst and industry partners reached out to 120 Algerian decision makers in a bid to offer a complete insight into the label and flexible packaging value chain. The roadshow was held in Algeria recently and the partners included Atlas Converting, DuPont, Esko, Les Talents Italiens (InciFlex, Jolly Plastic, Texachem), Rossini and Siegwerk, who together captured the attention of the audience and put the case for “localised production”.
“Algeria is the largest importer of packaging technology in Africa driven by the country’s determination to develop the production chain locally so as to progressively decrease its dependence on imported packaged goods,” said Eric Pavone of Bobst business unit web-fed.
Bobst highlighted the virtues of inline flexo and all-in-one-pass multi-process printing as ideal for multiple format changes and short run printings, with its MX and M5 label machine. The MX defined fixed configuration through to full option label, while the M5 for packaging lines is equipped with digital flexo technology and delivering a fully digitised workflow.
Presentations from industry partners covered the manufacturing of pre-press solutions, inks, doctor blades, sleeves and slitting equipment. Bobst highlighted the advantages of its equipment and process solutions in assisting converters winning the challenges they are confronted with to be competitive in their business.
