Klockner Pentaplast starts Thai lines

Medical device and pharma packaging grades developed for region

Germany Klöckner Pentaplast has announced is launching production of several new medical device and pharmaceutical packaging grades in Thailand for the Asian market.

Local manufacturing of FDA-grade Pentapharm mono PVC, Pentapharm alfoil PVdC-coated PVC and Pentaform medical thermoforming grade APET and PVC began in the first quarter of 2017.

A new extrusion line was added to the Thai plant at the end of 2016 to support local manufacture of Pentamed APET products. The plant is unique in being able to offer these products from a local manufacturer in a GMP facility that is ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certified.

“Klöckner Pentaplast has extensive global experience in pharmaceutical fims and has added this new production line to serve the rising demand for the Asia market,” said Hans-Dieter Laux, global director medical device films, pharmaceutical packaging.

“We invested in the new production line which enables us to fulfil high expectations for standard and high quality films for the Asia market.”
