Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) has announced to change its returnable glass bottles of 1.25 litres to make them more eco-friendly with paper labels and reusable across all the brands.
The company stated that the clear glass in standardised shapes is reusable and easier to recycle.
The paper label will allow Coca-Cola to list all ingredients and give dietary information to consumers.
CCBA is the eighth largest Coca-Cola bottling partner worldwide by revenue and the biggest on the continent, accounting for about 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes sold in Africa. It employ more than 17,000 people and its 42 bottling plants service over 600,000 customer outlets.
