CANPACK MIDDLE EAST, part of the CANPACK Group, a global manufacturer of beverage and food packaging, was recognized in the Medium-Sized Business category as a sustainability leader at the prestigious 13th Arabia CSR Awards, commonly regarded as the ‘Green Oscars’ of the Middle East.
Under the patronage and in the presence of H.E Eng. Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Bin Saqr Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Civil Aviation Department and member of the Executive Council of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah, 20 green champions from across the region were honored for their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives by the Arabia CSR Network (ACSRN) at one of the first public physical events post the COVID-19 outbreak in the UAE.
The winners were judged on their performance against international benchmarks such as the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Principles, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model, and the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. They were selected from entries from nine countries in the Middle East, covering 34 sectors.
