Canon has announced the appointment of Shinichi ‘Sam’ Yoshida as President & CEO of Canon Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), effective March 1, 2025. Yoshida succeeds Yuichi Ishizuka, who is retiring after a 44-year career with Canon, including seven years leading the EMEA region.
Previously based in the U.S., Yoshida held roles as Executive Vice President & General Manager of the Marketing Strategy Unit, as well as Chairman & CEO of Canon Solutions America, Inc. and Canon Financial Services, Inc. In his new role, he will oversee a regional sales organization spanning 120 countries, with approximately 12,300 employees, contributing about a quarter of Canon’s global revenues.
Yoshida’s focus will be on strengthening Canon’s core imaging and print businesses while expanding into new areas such as B2B imaging, industrial and commercial printing, and information management solutions. He brings experience in manufacturing, innovation, and recycling, having been part of the team that established Canon Virginia, Inc., a key manufacturing site in the Americas.
“Canon is a market leader in imaging and print technologies with millions of customers throughout EMEA. This diverse and exciting region is full of opportunity, and I am honored to lead the business through the next phase of innovation and growth,” Yoshida said.
Ishizuka, who held senior positions in Japan, the U.S., and Canada, played a key role in launching the Cinema EOS range in the U.S., which has since become a staple in the film and video industry.
