Borouge, a leading UAE petrochemicals company providing innovative, value-creating plastics solutions, has launched a new line of polymers that help the packaging industry advance its sustainability and circular economy commitments.
Borstar FB5600 by Borouge was unveiled at the 7th International African-Arabian Exhibition for Plastics Industry (Plastex 2020) in Cairo on January 9-12.
Borstar FB5600 is a new grade of bimodal HDPE, strengthening Borouge’s position as the provider of choice of polyolefin in the MENA region.
With the industry’s increasing interest in adopting and applying circular economy practices, this new solution aims to help its packaging customers improve their business and contribute to environment protection by enabling plastic packaging waste to be reused and recycled.
“Borouge reinforces our continuous commitment to supporting our customers in Egypt and introduces them to our increasing portfolio of differentiated and creative plastics solutions,” said Borogue CEO Wim Roels. “Egypt remains one of the fastest-growing polymers markets in MENA and is an essential gateway for Borouge to the whole region.”
The plastics market in Egypt is very important to Borouge given the long history of business collaboration with its customers in the region that started in 2002.
Visited by a large number of major plastics manufacturers, converters and end-users, Borouge’s stand at Plastex 2020 displayed a wide range of application samples made from Borouge’s polyolefin solutions for packaging, infrastructure, energy and agriculture sectors.
Borouge’s packaging films are engineered to be safe, light, environmentally friendly and contribute to reducing food waste. Borouge has set industry standards with its infrastructure solutions that add value through improved processing properties, lower maintenance, longer product lifetime, increased safety and no leakages. Using the most advanced technologies from Borealis, Borouge provides insulation and jacketing materials for low to high voltage cables.
