
Borouge Plc, a leading petrochemicals company specializing in innovative polyolefin solutions, has announced a series of new supply agreements and collaborations valued at over $100 million (AED367 million). These agreements underscore Borouge’s commitment to sustainability and its leadership in advancing advanced materials.
The company has signed agreements to supply advanced polyethylene and polypropylene with key industry players, including Bericap for high-performance closures, Taghleef Industries for durable films, INDEVCO Group for sustainable packaging, and ALPLA for smart packaging solutions. These partnerships aim to address real-world challenges in packaging, focusing on safety, extended food shelf life, recyclability, and reducing environmental impact.
Borouge’s advanced polyolefins are designed for fast-growing sectors, with 80% of its products being differentiated for industries like energy, mobility, healthcare, and advanced packaging. The company is also advancing its zero-waste strategy by promoting circularity, using both virgin and recycled polyolefin solutions to reduce waste and foster sustainability.
Additionally, Borouge has partnered with Tahzeem Packaging and Rebound to produce heavy-duty shipping sacks using 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) polyethylene. This collaboration demonstrates Borouge’s ability to deliver packaging solutions that align with its customers’ sustainability goals.
