BOBST introduces new solutions and partnerships at drupa 2024

BOBST unveils cutting-edge packaging solutions at drupa 2024.

BOBST announced new solutions and strategic partnerships at drupa 2024, aiming to shape the future of packaging through connected production lines and seamless workflows.

“We are fulfilling our industry vision to shape the future of the packaging world based on connectivity, digitalization, automation, and sustainability,” said Jean-Pascal Bobst, CEO of Bobst Group. “Our solutions empower printers and converters to embrace digitalization while advancing towards a more sustainable future.”

DIGITAL MASTER 55

The DIGITAL MASTER 55 is an all-in-one digital printing and converting platform for the folding carton industry. It combines printing, embellishment, quality control, and die-cutting in one line, operating at 100 meters per minute. This platform supports short-to-mid-size runs, offering quick lead times and high-quality production. By enabling just-in-time production, it reduces the need for large inventories and minimizes waste.

BOBST Connect

BOBST Connect enhances connectivity and digitalization in the packaging sector by enabling a closed-loop workflow from PDF to twin PDF. New features include updated equipment monitoring for detailed data insights and performance management tools to optimize sustainability and costs. The Digital Front End (DFE) 3.0 for labels, a cloud-based platform, will be showcased for the first time. It provides real-time data access, central color management, and a web-based interface supporting multiple users across sites.

ACCUCHECK

Updates to ACCUCHECK for narrow-mid-web solutions include major productivity and automation improvements. The new automatic quality inspection setup and job queue synchronization eliminate setup time, allowing customers to inspect every job without extra effort. Calibration enhancements feature a new color uniformity process and advanced color-to-color registration, significantly reducing setup time.

Thalia Ink and Thalia Foldable Ink: UV Digital Inks

BOBST’s Thalia inks are TPO-free, compliant with REACH and EuPIA GMP, and meet the latest Swiss Ordinance. They offer enhanced resistance and color gamut without compromising print quality. Thalia Foldable UV inks maintain elasticity post-curing, ideal for high-speed folding-gluing and intricate folding carton applications.

BOBST’s MASTERCUT 165 PER- a flagship flatbed die-cutter.

MASTERCUT 165 PER: Versatile Die-Cutting

BOBST’s MASTERCUT 165 PER handles corrugated board and folding carton with ease. It features a Dual Stream system, carbon gripper bar for speeds up to 7,500 sheets per hour, and in-line quality control with automatic waste ejection.

BOBST MASTER RS 6003: Pantone-Approved

BOBST’s extended color gamut technology (oneECG) for gravure printing, used in the MASTER RS 6003, has been fully validated by Pantone. This validation ensures accurate reproduction of the Pantone library, providing customers with complete peace of mind regarding color consistency and quality.

BOBST has also expanded its strategic partnership with Microsoft to enhance its cloud-based software capabilities and entered a new partnership with Packitoo, a French company developing digital packaging solutions.
