BOBST and LEONHARD KURZ Stiftung & Co. KG (KURZ) have announced an expanded strategic partnership aimed at further developing hot-transfer stamping technologies. As part of the initiative, the NOVAFOIL 106 H hot-transfer stamping machine has been installed at KURZ’s Demo Center in Fürth, Germany. This move marks a new phase in the collaboration between the two companies, both prominent players in packaging and embellishment technologies.
The partnership is focused on co-developing and testing innovative solutions that respond to the evolving demands of the packaging industry. BOBST, a specialist in printing and converting equipment, and KURZ, known for surface embellishment technologies, aim to enhance precision, efficiency, and anti-counterfeit capabilities in packaging design.
The NOVAFOIL 106 H, developed by BOBST, has been optimized for hot-transfer stamping applications. It features a redesigned stamping section with extended dwell time, high pressure, and stable temperature, along with the ACCUREGISTER system, which ensures high register accuracy without sheet contact.
At the KURZ facility, the hologram-enabled version of the NOVAFOIL 106 H is now available for demonstration. This machine includes up to 10 modular hologram units that can be independently mounted on transversal rails and connected through a plug-and-play system. Each unit has its own motor, brake, and register, allowing for precise and flexible application. This setup enables converters to apply complex hologram designs in a single pass.
“We are very happy to have the unique opportunity to demonstrate this exceptional machine here at KURZ’s and deepen our relationship to create synergies and develop new and exciting technologies,” said Bodo Junge, Product Marketing Director at BOBST.
Both companies are planning further demonstrations and collaborative events to showcase the machine’s capabilities and the results of their ongoing development efforts.
