Bluewater’s revolutionary SmartBottling™ solution, showcased at ‘The Hotel Show Dubai,’ is gaining widespread attention as a game changer in the battle against single-use plastic bottles.
The innovative system, developed by Bluewater in collaboration with NIA, offers a sustainable alternative for hotels seeking to provide guests with fresh and healthy bottled water while reducing their environmental footprint. With its state-of-the-art purification and micro-bottling capabilities, the SmartBottling™ ecosystem fills, labels, caps, seals, and washes bottles, all on-site.
By eliminating the need for plastic bottle transportation, the solution significantly contributes to the reduction of pollution and waste. Bluewater’s CEO, Bengt Rittri, emphasized the environmental impact of single-use plastic bottles, noting that a 200-room four-star hotel can use up to 20,000 bottles per month.
The system’s launch at ‘The Hotel Show Dubai’ highlighted the increasing industry trend towards sustainability, with visitors given the opportunity to experience ‘zero-kilometer-water,’ where water is generated and bottled on-site.
Rittri believes sustainability will continue to drive major investments in the hospitality sector and states that Bluewater is well-prepared to support hotels and chains in adopting more sustainable practices.
The company’s extensive range of water purification and beverage products aligns with the evolving demands of the modern hotel industry. As the region witnesses significant hotel expansion, with 123 new hotels and over 30,000 rooms projected to open this year alone, Bluewater’s solution presents a valuable opportunity for hoteliers seeking to implement sustainable alternatives.
