Amcor, a global leader in packaging solutions, has collaborated with Kimberly Clark to launch packaging for Huggies Eco Protect diapers in Peru. The new packaging contains 30% recycled materials, offering a more sustainable option for the diapers made with certified, plant-based fibers.
The bags, designed and produced by Amcor for Kimberly Clark, aim to contribute to a circular economy. They are made from recycled plastic film processed to maintain performance and minimize visual impact.
Carolina Gormezano, Huggies’ Marketing Director for the Andes region, noted, “A recent Mintel survey shows 39% of Peruvians prefer sustainable packaging, highlighting the importance of the circular economy. By reducing, reusing, and recycling materials, we can minimize waste and protect our planet.”
Laetitia Sanchez, Amcor Latin America Marketing Director, highlighted the environmental benefits of the collaboration, including 30% less energy consumption, 23% lower carbon footprint, and 23% less water usage compared to standard packaging. Flexible plastics offer advantages such as being lightweight and customizable for improved functionality and visual appeal.
Sanchez stated, “We are proud to collaborate with Kimberly-Clark in designing solutions that meet consumer needs and contribute to the circular economy.”
