ALPLAhana, a collaboration between the packaging specialist ALPLA and South Korea’s HANA Innovation, has introduced its first fully plastic down-lock dispenser pump at Beautyworld Middle East in Dubai, scheduled for October 28-30. The innovative dispenser, made entirely from 100% polypropylene, aims to enhance recyclability while minimizing the number of components.
Sree Hari R Nair, Global Head of Business Pumps and Devices at ALPLA, stated, “Our solution strengthens the circular economy, saves material, and increases recyclability. It does not require a metal spring, requires fewer components, and some of them can also be made from post-consumer recycled material (PCR).” The dispenser features a sturdy plastic spring, allowing it to safely store contents in the down-lock position, providing logistical advantages and saving shelf space.
The product will be available in two standard versions, with nominal outputs of 2 and 4 milliliters, and will feature both smooth and ribbed neck finishes for standard closure sizes. Customization options for color, head, and closure are also available, catering to specific customer requirements.
ALPLAhana positions itself as a system supplier, offering a coordinated solution that combines the bottle and pump, streamlining the purchasing process. Michael Feltes, Managing Director of ALPLAinject, emphasized the importance of sustainability, saying, “Many multinational brand manufacturers want to make their portfolios more sustainable and environmentally friendly. We can now support them with our safe, affordable, and sustainable dispenser solutions.”
With this launch, ALPLAhana aims to meet the increasing demand for environmentally friendly packaging solutions in the beauty industry.
