Packaging specialist ALPLA and beverage producer Refriango have commenced production at their new inhouse plant, ALPLA SOPRO, located directly at the Refriango site in Viana, Angola. This collaboration aims to enhance efficiency and capacity while reducing their carbon footprint. ALPLA SOPRO specializes in manufacturing safe, affordable, and sustainable plastic bottles, directly connected to Refriango’s filling lines.
The partnership between ALPLA and Refriango is a strategic move to meet the growing demand for high-quality beverages and bottled drinking water in Angola and surrounding regions. The second inhouse plant at the Refriango site represents a significant commitment to the growth markets in southern Africa.

We are already using this successful model in Mexico, South America, and the Philippines. The opening ceremony of ALPLA SOPRO was attended by high-ranking representatives, including Austrian Ambassador Romana Königsbrun and Martin Meischl from the Austrian Foreign Trade Center in Johannesburg. They emphasized the close economic ties between Austria and Angola, showcasing the significance of ALPLA’s investment in the region.
