All4Labels expands sustainable STAR Portfolio with STARDIRECT™ technology

All4Labels unveils STARDIRECT™, a sustainable breakthrough in packaging decoration.

All4Labels Global Packaging Group has introduced STARDIRECT™, a new sustainable decoration technology, reinforcing its position as a leader in the label and packaging industry. The patented technology, currently available exclusively in Europe, eliminates the need for printing substrates, significantly reducing plastic and waste. This innovation offers improved design flexibility, supports lower CO2 emissions, and enhances opportunities for reuse and recycling.

“Sustainability is part of All4Labels’ DNA,” said Guido Iannone, Chief Sales Officer at All4Labels. The company’s technology teams focus on cutting environmental impact through lower emissions and other gains enabled by new technologies. STARDIRECT™ is the latest example, co-developed with a partner and optimized at All4Labels’ site in Leeds, UK.

The technology opens up significant opportunities in sectors such as Wine & Spirits, Personal & Homecare, Beer & Beverages, and Food, including products that currently do not use labels. Brand owners can now convert their packaging into attractively designed solutions with a lower environmental impact.

Market demand for STARDIRECT™ is expected to be high. All4Labels is expanding its production across multiple European sites, including Spain, Italy, and Germany. “We act as a global hub for innovation,” Iannone said. “All4Labels devotes substantial resources to creating unmatched label solutions by leveraging printing technologies that ensure sustainability gains. STARDIRECT™ is an exciting development that has successfully completed its testing phase and is now available to our customers.”

STARDIRECT™ is suitable for glass, plastic, and aluminum containers. Special inline applicators or rotary applicator modules, available through partners, provide high-quality container labeling for brand owners committed to sustainable and innovative solutions. The technology is currently applied at medium speed rates, with plans to enter the high-speed dispensing market.

Chen Yan, Head of Global Operations Technology at All4Labels, highlighted the benefits of STARDIRECT™: “Our solution offers superior design flexibility compared to screen printing, accommodating a wide array of color schemes, finishes, and customizations. It also meets sustainability requirements by reducing plastic use and waste, promoting reuse and recycling opportunities, and lowering CO2 emissions during production.”
