ABG powers RFID innovation with advanced converting solutions

ABG’s advanced RFID converting line in action, enabling seamless integration of RFID tags for efficient asset tracking.

A B Graphic International (ABG), a leading finishing equipment manufacturer, continues to expand its Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) converting solutions, addressing the growing demand for efficient asset tracking systems. ABG’s portfolio enables businesses to integrate RFID tags into labels, enhancing operational efficiency and precision.

RFID technology, which combines microchips, antennas, and readers, facilitates seamless tracking and identification of products. This hands-free system improves speed, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness in asset management. Abbott Label, a US-based label manufacturer and long-standing ABG customer, has embraced this technology by opening a specialised RFID converting facility in Nashville, Tennessee.

With a 25-year partnership, Abbott Label operates five ABG machines, known for their durability and performance. The company’s latest acquisition, a 13-inch RFID converting line, significantly boosts production capacity. Designed for high-speed inlay insertion across diverse substrates and label sizes, the system meets the demands of modern packaging applications.

Mark Davenport, RFID plant manager at Abbott Label, remarked, “I feel that it’s the highest-producing, fastest solution in the market today. ABG’s equipment is rock solid. All the equipment I’ve bought over the last 24 years is still efficiently running today.”

ABG’s bespoke RFID converting lines are tailored for large-scale production, offering modular designs that support multiple lanes and varying web widths. These customisable systems ensure flexibility and scalability, catering to evolving industry needs.

For businesses new to RFID, ABG provides the entry-level Omega Ti200, capable of inserting RFID and EAS tags into labels at a rate of up to 1,000 per minute. Features like anti-static technology and dual web guides enhance its performance and reliability.

“ABG’s advanced RFID solutions help our customers stay ahead in this rapidly evolving market,” noted Matt Burton, ABG’s global sales director. “By offering both entry-level and highly customisable systems, we support our customers in adopting RFID technology efficiently.”
