Korozo Group has partnered with Zertus UK & Ireland to develop stand-up pouches for Baileys Chocolate Nut Mix, a new product that extends the Irish cream liqueur brand into the adult snack market. The range includes chocolate-coated almonds, caramelized nuts, salted toffee popcorn, and a hint of Baileys flavor.
The stand-up pouches, designed in collaboration with Korozo, feature eight-color flexographic printing, partial matte lacquer, and KoroRCY film laminated to a PE layer with an EVOH component. This structure ensures product integrity while maintaining recyclability. Additional features include laser scribing for easy tear openings and resealable zippers.
“For this important product launch, Zertus required packaging that was both functional and visually striking,” said İrem Altinay, Field Sales Manager for Food Flexibles at Korozo Group. “We provided a recyclable and resealable solution that supports the brand’s sustainability goals while maintaining product quality throughout the supply chain.”
The packaging also contributed to the product’s recognition at The Grocer New Product & Packaging Awards, where Baileys Chocolate Nut Mix won in the “Crisps, Nuts & Bagged Snacks” category.
“Adult snacks and festive nut mixes are highly competitive markets,” said Louise O’Reilly, Product Development Manager at Zertus UK & Ireland. “Winning this award underscores the product’s market success, complemented by packaging that is both functional and appealing. Korozo’s flexible packaging solution aligns with consumer preferences for convenience, quality, and sustainability.”
