Mettler-Toledo launches advanced combination inspection systems

Mettler-Toledo’s advanced CM and CX systems combine precision weighing with enhanced contamination detection.

Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection has expanded its combination inspection systems with the introduction of advanced CM (checkweighing and metal detection) and CX (checkweighing and x-ray) models. The new systems integrate the M30 R-Series metal detectors and X2 Series x-ray inspection systems with C-Series checkweighers, offering manufacturers flexibility to meet specific application, packaging, and budget needs.

The updated CM and CX systems combine precision weighing with contamination detection, addressing Critical Control Points (CCPs) in an integrated solution. The company highlighted features such as simplified operation, a compact design, and reduced long-term costs. The M30 R-Series and X2 Series enhance detection sensitivity, providing improved quality control and product safety.

According to Mettler-Toledo, the systems offer several key benefits:

  • Configuration flexibility: Multiple inspection combinations allow manufacturers to tailor solutions to their requirements.
  • Operator efficiency: A shared human-machine interface (HMI) facilitates one-touch product changeovers and provides centralized access to statistical data, reducing training needs and user errors.
  • Space-saving design: Shared components, such as conveyors, optimize floor space and simplify cleaning processes.
  • Lower total cost of ownership: Integrating two inspection technologies through a single vendor simplifies documentation, installation, and service, leading to cost savings.
  • Quality assurance options: Vision inspection technology can be added to create 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 systems, capable of checking packaging integrity, label accuracy, and product weight.
  • Industry 4.0 readiness: Systems are compatible with ProdX software for real-time monitoring, improved traceability, and regulatory compliance.

“These innovative solutions provide unparalleled flexibility, enhanced efficiency, and significant cost savings,” said Joern Migge, Head of Product and Market Management at Mettler-Toledo. “By integrating the latest inspection technologies, we deliver maximum protection and quality assurance for our customers’ products.”

The combination systems aim to address modern manufacturing needs, offering adaptable solutions for enhanced operational efficiency and product safety.
